The Geraldine F. Lavin Memorial Scholarship Fund

On March 18, 2001, Geraldine Lavin lost a long and courageous fight against breast cancer. She had been completing her education at Suffolk University until her illness forced her to withdraw.

"Deanie" was the wife of Michael T. Lavin, Associate Professor of Public Management at Suffolk's Sawyer School of Management and a founder of its partnership with Cape Cod Community College.

The Geraldine F. Lavin Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by students and alumni to honor her memory, and to recognize Dean Lavin's contribution to the Suffolk programs on Cape Cod.

The goal of the Fund is to build a legacy of scholarship support for both undergraduate and graduate students in the Sawyer School's Cape Cod Programs whose lives have been affected by breast cancer, which has a particularly high incidence on the Cape.
